Earlier this week, my friend texted me a flyer about this fundraiser at her son's school. It was called "Paint Party"and it actually was held at my sister-in-laws school. I have heard about these Paint Parties, with different names and I have always wanted to try. But me being all introverted and not really good with a lot of people that I don't know and so this was the perfect opportunity to go and try this out! I asked my friend if she wanted to come with me and so agreed. When we got there, I realized that my sister-in-law was also attending the event.
So, when we got there there were little stations with easels, canvas, paint and brushes that we could choose to sit at. We picked out our sitting arrangements and got some pupus to snack on while everyone was arriving (we got there about 15 minutes earlier).
So we started out painting after introducing ourselves to everyone that arrived (note: please do not ask an introvert with anxiety issues to introduce herself! It's VERY nerve wrecking!). The first part wasn't that hard to get. Then it started to get harder to follow what the instructor was doing!
When we had to paint the dark part around our "sun" it was getting harder to blend without all the color turning brown. It was really hard to see what was going on..and the blending wasn't working with me. I felt like I was doing make up on canvas! Blend, blend, blend!
More blending....I had to stop for a bit so that it could dry and I can continue trying to figure out the sky...
Okay, I know that was a big skip in the pictures...but I forgot to take pictures of the step by step process. I think that making the ocean part was the easiest part. The far breaks were pretty easy to create, however that wave in the front was the most difficult part!
I think that in the pictures the wave actually pretty decent..I think that it was hard because I couldn't figure out what we were doing since we didn't get to see what we were doing at first...but that's okay...because I now know the steps on how to make a wave! :)
So here is the painting with both the sky and water. I hadn't finished the sky yet and I have to fix the waterline where it touches the sky and I really don't like how my sun is looking.
Here is my friend who came with me looking all professional! I think that she is doing a great job! I really like her's turned out!
I just added the clouds and fixed the horizon...and touched up on the sun. I really want to fix more...but I feel like the more that I try to, the more I mess it up and so I just left it..and you know what?! I'm happy with how it turned out! It all worked out!
And here are my sister-in-laws, my friend who came with me, and my paintings. I like how they look different and unique in their own art.
All-in-all, I had a lot of fun. Once I started to pain, I didn't even see all those people that had gone and all my anxiety disappeared. I was just having fun with it and trying to get everything all right. It was a lot of harder than I thought that it would be...but then I am glad that I got to learn new techniques on how to paint. Because I do like to mess around in painting...but i just never really knew how...but I would so do this again. There wasn't that many people there and it was a very fun and relaxed environment. Yay to fun moments! :)

Golden Rule
I love how every Wednesday, there is a Thrift Store that the church that holds that preschool that I work at. I have been working here for a little more than a month and I have not yet until today gone to check the place out. One thing that I like about this place is if you say that it is for the preschool then it is for free. That is really nice of them.
But today, I was trying to look to see if I can find things that I can use as crafts and arts for my preschool kids. I did find a lot of things that I could use, but I wanted to just look for today. I did buy something though. Something for my favorite little DollGirl. We have costume day at the end of this month here at the school and I was planning to be a bumblebee because things have been SUPER busy this month....just like a bumblebee busy, always buzzing around...and look what little costume that I found for my little Gumball.
I am going to ask my sister if I can have a fun photoshoot with DollGirl when she wears this one and I wear my homemade bumblebee costume. I'll ask Mandy if she can do the shoot because she is pretty talented with the camera. :)
I really am excited to see my lil one in this cute costume! I also saw a ladybug costume just like this one...but I really like this bee costume. Yep, I'm super excited. :)
I still want to keep in the pumpkin theme this month until we go to our field trip. We will be going to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow...and I am SUPER excited! I have not yet been to the Pumpkin Patch here in Hawai'i yet...and I am SO excited! But today, I gave the children an outline of a pumpkin and then gave them a black piece of paper and told them to cut out the shapes that they want for their Jack o' Lanturn faces. And they did really well! We can use a little more practice on our cutting skills...but overall, I'm proud of them. And because they love the "pretties"...I gave them the option whether or not that they can use it...and of course, I didn't have to give them that option because they WILL use it. :)
One thing that I have been super proud of my kids is that they really do get the Golden Rule. Here in this school, one thing that I absolutely love is that they encourage "Monthly Value"...and that is a character, value, or something or not that we enforce for the month with the kids. We do encourage them to practice Christian values at all time...but each month we really point out and enforce a "special" value for the month. This month is the Golden Rule: Do until others as you would have them do unto you. And I am SO very proud of the, because I can not ever begin to tell you about how much they understand this. They use their words more..."I don't like that, it makes me sad..." And then when I watch them as they try not to make other's sad because they don't like being sad. I love working with kids because of this innocence that they have...they are such sponges and they are so eco-centric...and they are beginning to see that in order for them to be happy they need to make other's happy. And I love that.
I decided to go and visit my former work today to see how my friends are doing there. I do talk to them nearly everyday...but I wanted to see Nicole. I heard some very sad news...and I wanted to make sure that she is doing okay. I know that it is my former job...but if I can I wouldn't mind helping out. Nicole is an amazing person and an amazing friend. I was there for awhile, but when I was there a lot of people where needing to talk to her...and so I spent time with her daughter...she is such a little poser! I have a million pictures that she took on my phone and a lot of her posing! She should be a lil model with the way that she poses! But she had this cute little toy with her and it reminded me of the little popple toys that I had when I was younger! It as a little toy that folded in a ball...it was cute!
It was good to see everyone again. I love and miss my lil keikis...but its so good to see that they are adjusting great with out me. Wow, that hurt to say...no, but it is good. They are doing great...but it still warms my heart that they come running up to me when I come over...but they aren't giving their current teachers a hard time now. So that is good.

Kailua SDA Church.
I went to church today at Kailua SDA Church. It's actually the church that Hawaiian Mission Acadamy Windward side is held...and so it's a very familiar church to me. I rarely go, but I'm pretty familiar with it. :) My sister and her husband actually are gone since yesterday...wait, no Thursday because this is their anniversary weekend and they went to Maui...this is their first time leaving their little daughter behind...and I know that my sister misses her baby girl a lot.
But it's good that my parents are her so that they can help watch little DollGirl. :) I know that my DollGirl adore her Lolo, and I don't blame her because I was once a "daddy's girl" and got along well with my dad. I did get along with my mom...but not as much as my dad. Don't get me wrong! I love them equally...! But my niece with quite attached to my dad to the point where she is possessive over him and won't let me hug my daddy! *laughs* Sorry, little one...he was MY daddy first! *laughs* It's okay, at least I have learned how to share. :)
These pictures crack me up because I had asked her to smile at her Lola and she is just like me...making faces instead of smiling at the camera! *laughs* Oh my days...I love this little monkey to the moon and back and around the world a million and infinity times! She is so silly! She wore the dress that I gave her for her birthday today, so that is cool. She has my heart...and I'm super excited for her brother to come along...but for now, I will enjoy spending time with my lil DollGirl whenever I can. :)
Oh yeah, I also needed to paint my nails today...and so after a long while, I was able to come up with this quick design before I have to get ready to go to work. I wanted to write this post before I left for my Passion Roots job...but yes, I was really feeling like green...and so green it is. :)

Relaxing day.
Last night I knocked out. I think that the lavender is finally working! I actually slept 4 hours straight...and I haven't had that kind of sleep in such a long time. And yes, I am crediting it to the lavender, because that is the only thing that I've changed since trying to change my sleeping habits...well, my non-sleeping habits.
I woke up at 4:am this morning and took a shower...and wrote in my journal, then went back to sleep and this time went to sleep for 2 hours before waking up at 8:pm. And guess what!?! I went to church! At the central church there was the convocation thingy...which I really have no idea really what that is...but I do know that it's like this Island's way of having a camp meeting or something.
My sister wanted my brother and Mandy and I to help her and Tracy with the children's program. And so we decided to help them out. My "job" was to keep DollGirl occupied and so I had a lot of fun with that...because we all know that I love that girl with ALL my heart. But before we went to the church we were going to stop by Starbucks to get mine and Mandy's coffee...but the line was way to long and so we made our way over to Peets Coffee and Tea...and I had no idea what to get, so I ended up getting the Matcha Chai with pumpkin Blended...and at first I was SUPER iffy about it...but when I tried it...it was super yummy!

Also, that place is super cute! I know that in Cali we have a Peets in American Canyon, and this place just opened up here in Kailua, and so I'm pretty happy that they have one here, because even though I'm not familiar with the place, I think that I can grow to like it...it looks like a good place to go study, so I wouldn't mind going there to just study homework and stuff...it's cozy and it has a lots of seats and right at my finger tips there is coffee AND tea! And literally it's like 5 minutes from my house...if that!! :)
Well, it was super hot today, and DollGirl just wanted to run all over the place! And I had worn some of my heels to church...and it was good to know that I can still run in heels because I needed to keep up with the little one! But I think that everyone in general had a lot of fun. My sister and Tracy did such a good job. I'm not sure if they were in charge of the whole thing, but they were the front deck people...and when Jem and Mandy came they helped them and then I saw that Kuya Neal and Kaleo were doing their own booth for the health message. So that was cool.
Afterwards we all went over to Wahoo's from lunch. We didn't want to stay at the church for potluck because there was A LOT of people and also my sister was not feeling well because the heat is getting to her. I am super excited because she is getting bigger and bigger and soon I'll be able to feel lil Jr. kick! My sister said that K.Neal has felt the baby kick already, and I can't wait until I can feel him kick too! I am so excited for this little one to come into the world...but I do know with this pregnancy my sister has not been feeling it. But she does everything for her babies...and DollGirl super loves her baby brother already! It's so heart warming to her her talk about her baby brother in her mommy's "tummy". *laughs*
After lunch we made our way to my sister's house and DollGirl went to take her nap and when she went to take her nap, we all took our nap too! Gingerbear took her nap with me!
She looks tired in this picture...also she looks like she is smiling. I love how she loves to cuddle with me when I am sitting in the E-Z chair...or even if I'm on the ground or something. I am starting to love this dog...even though when I first met her, she wasn't my favorite because she was super aggressive...but now she is SO good with DollGirl and it is always good to see her. :)
All in all, it was a good day. I'm so glad that I was able to spend time with DollGirl. I love that girl...and also I got to see my parents. I miss them. I need to find time to hang out with them. Hopefully that time comes soon. I know that my sister really appreciates how they are here to help with DollGirl and stuff. But I do miss them when I don't see them. I miss all my family when I don't see them.

Silly Girl.
I ended up going to church today...and when I got home I literally knocked out. I wasn't feeling all that good, but then I really needed to see my DollGirl...I just needed to so badly so I ended up going to church. Pastor Tim is a really good pastor; he is very passionate about what he talks about...and it shows. :)
Well, I ended up sitting with my whole family...I sat in-between K.Neal and Amanda...but then DollGirl kept moving all over the place but she was mostly playing with me. She makes me so happy...and I love her so much.

She is such a smart cookie. Whenever I go over to her place and she sees my chapstick, she knows to give it back to me. She knows the difference between my things and everyone else things...it's funny because if we put our things down...you will hear DollGirl calling your name out with you things in her hands so that she can give it to you because she thinks that you might have forgotten your things...so we have learned to put our things up where she can't reach it no matter what she might bring over to stand on! :) It's not that she wants to play with our things, she just wants to always give us our things back.
There are times where I think that I have misplaced something and I would ask DollGirl where my ________ is...and she goes, "Oh!" and she runs and goes to get it. It's so cute. And I think that it's super hilarious when she steals someones chair. :)
Today she decided that she wanted to make one of my chopstick's look "pretty"...and so for a few moments she sat quietly on the ground and proceeded to place stickers on my chapstick of the day. :) So now when I use it, I can look at it and smile knowing that my lil DollgGirl made it a point to make my chapstick "pretty" just for me. :)
