Well, just to finish my other entry that I had to cut off so suddenly, my sister is okay. The insurance people keep calling me now because it was my car that she was using and their favorite questions seem to be, "Do you and your sister live in the same house?!" [Me: yes] and the next question, "Did she have permission to drive your car?!" [Me: Uhm, no. We just live at the same house and my car just happened to be sitting in the driveway and she stole it...!! OR COURSE she had my permission!] I hope that they fix my car soon though, the back is all messed up.
My sister's back is all messed up. Her neck too. It's no lie. The guy was such a jerk though to my sister. Boo!! But I'm really happy that she is okay...and that although she did get hurt, it wasn't too bad [although a bad back and sore neck is pretty bad, it could have been worse, way worse.]
So even though I may not always see eye to eye with my sister, I would like her to stay in my life for a lot longer.

Car Accident.
Yesterday was a good day for work. I only had a staff meeting that lasted from 8-10 in the morning and then I was free for the rest of the day to do other things. I got home and changed and started to fix the house. My sister was all dressed up, and so I asked her, "Where are you going?!" She was on her way to do errands for Passion Roots [we have a BIG wedding tomorrow and so EVERYONE was running around for that one!]
"You want to come along?!" I then got a call from my boss telling me that my sister told her that I didn't have [preschool] work today, and did I want to come in to process flowers "I have more than 5 boxes from Watanabe to be processed," I came in, Shilhi brought me.
Marci also came in to help me, and we were dancing and processing at the same time. She is a fun person! When Marci exclaimed, "Your phone is ringing!" I picked it up and it was my sister. She was in an accident. She ended up going to ER, she had a pretty bad whiplash. And her back was killing her.
According to her, the car in front of her had their blinker on to turn, so she stopped [since there was no way to go around the car], but the car behind her, which was about a house length away, wasn't paying attention and banged into her going about 40 mph. He then proceeded to yell at her, telling her that she can't accuse him of hitting her when she didn't see who hit him. No one did.
My sister, who was hysterical, called her husband. A lady had stopped and was trying to help her as well, and I guess my sister had also called the police because the guy who hit her was being verbally abusive and made like he was going to hit her!

Long...
...day! Even LONGER week. My family swears that I have been MIA for the past week. I get up, go to work, and I tell myself that when I get home, I will only take a 2 hour nap, ends up being the WHOLE night, so I never got to see my family and we live together!
Thursday was better, I was able to force myself up after the "promised" 2 hour "only" nap, and my family saw that wow! I was alive still! *laughs* But wow, what was up with this week?! It was super, way long.
My preschool career/job was "normal" (although, MY "normal" is different from another human being's "normal"). We did get this new girl. And let me tell you, I was really upset! Without going into details, let me go on a rant about...if you think you are old enough to have sex, no matter what age you are, be prepared to step up to the plate if you have a child! Serious!
One thing that gets me so mad is when parents have children and then neglect them, abandon them, abuse them! What gets me even more upset and mad are people who prey on children, but I'm not going to go off about that, coz I don't want to get myself all riled up. But serious people, it's not the child's fault that you decided to have unprotected sex! Don't let the child suffer. My heart goes out to this 2 year old girl, who is having a hard time because in her two years she experienced things that she shouldn't have. Even if she was 20 or 100, much less just two! Give me a break people.
I do have to say that this week was HOT, HOT, HOT!! Oh mandope, it was super hot. It's hot right now. I have my fan blowing at me at number three and it's still hot, and get this, it's not even CLOSE to summer! *laughs* But I'm not complaining; I chose to live here, and I like hot WAY better than the harsh, cold, bitter winters! *smiles*
Well, I need to go now, to some stuff before the weekend really hits!

Small Acts.
I got home from work extra tired. Super extra tired for some reason, so I took a nap. I vaguely remember my older brother asking if I wanted to go see a new movie with him, my other brother and sister. I was too tired to get up.
Right before they left, my sister walks into my room to see if I'm okay, I'm a light sleeper, so I wake up. I hear her ask me if I'm okay and I sleepily mumble something unrecognizable. I hear her doing something and they all left and I fall back into deep sleep.
I wake up thirsty an hour later and realize that my sister had turned on my night light, left my door open and had the hallway light on, and the living room light. I had left my regular cup of water in the kitchen and she knew that when I wake up I habitually make a grab for my cup of water. Knowing I hate waking up to a dark place, she turned on my night light and left some lesser lights on my way to the kitchen.
My sister is pretty awesome.

February Wedding #2 [Continued]
Another successful wedding. It's kind of cool how many emotions you can go through when creating the atmosphere of a wedding. Yes, creating the atmosphere. When you are asked to design and decorate the wedding, I believe that is creating the atmosphere, because the decoration and design help the ambience of the whole shebang.
No matter what I'm feeling, I know that I start a wedding with anticipation of what is to come. A little anxiety as well, because I learned that you can't control everything, and so I know that I get anxious wondering what is going to happen to be my challenge "this time." Then I go through all the emotions...literally. All.
This time frustration was a big one. But I got through with it!
This is the first time that I'm working with the new intern, Marci. She is really sweet and I feel really easy with her. She is a couple years older than me, but we relate a lot. She has had experience working with flowers before, so she knows the works, and she is really down-to-earth. I love how she randomly starts dancing when she hears music and she fast at what she does. I'm glad that Shilhi has added an awesome intern to the Passion Roots team.
This was our first Japanese wedding at the Kahala Resort. Super nice place...the people were nice, and I have to say that there were a lot of hot men there! They were so helpful too! *laughs* I didn't get to take any pictures because of miscommunication we only had 1 hour to prep everything. So we were in a rush to set everything up and a rush to leave before the guest started to arrive. My boss did manage to rush capture a few shots on her iphone though.
Here are two of the six smaller centerpieces that Marci and I worked on. [With the dreaded "frog" pins!] It was the last picture we took before we packed up to rush to the site! I still really do love the hydrangeas and baby pink spray roses together!

There were only 30 guests so they had wanted a long decorated table to be made. Four [you can only see three here though] "lollipop" hydrangea arrangements with green ameranthus [this is also what we used for the other wedding that we did last weekend, but I couldn't remember the name!] hanging. And six low centerpieces made of hydrangeas, baby pink spray roses, pink sweet pea, pink lisianthus, and dusty miller and lemon leaf for the foliage.
On the table were also fake wax candles and 72 crystal candle votives with fake candles inside.
There were four cocktail tables outside though with small arrangements: 2 hydrangea/dusty miller arrangements with shell accents in the clear container and 2 miscellaneous decorative shell arrangements. Outside it was also decorated with green mason jars with candle votives hanging on the tree and placed strategically around the outside.

I wish I had the time to take a picture of the ocean. It was perfect. Serious, it was super perfect that I regret not bringing my bikini with me to take a dip in the ocean. It was perfect for paddle boarding.

February Wedding #2
Frustration ran through my veins last night. More like boiled through my veins. I was so frustrated!! Last night was my first time working with "frogs" instead of oasis, it's a more green approach, and I hated it. Or maybe I was just tired...or it could be the fact that I had to skip out on the Valentines friend's date to a Moroccan restaurant...more likely I was frustrated because the "frog's" didn't like me was enjoying giving me a HARD time!
What is a "frog" in floral terms?! It's like a 2 inch green circle with lots of...uhm, nails sticking up sharp end [about like an inch or so up] and you "putty" it on the bottom of the container you use and you stick flowers in it to create your arrangement. And it's a lot harder than you think to use them. First off, the arrangement that I was creating was suppose to be "lushes." How are you going to put a lot of flowers in a 2 inch circular space?! And to make matters worse, the frog would start floating to the top after the flowers were finally settled in! I had to do three arrangements over again because of the frog, when if I used an oasis, I would have been able to do the 6 arrangements in half the time. For reals.
I finally got the art of using the "frog." And yes, I am quite proud of myself. I did give up last night, and came in early this morning to figure it out. I swear, I dreamed about it last night trying to conquer this difficult "frog," because this morning, I did it! I still prefer to use oasis, "frogs" are not my friends. But if it's a more green approach, then I should start learning how to use the damn thing without wasting so much time.
For this wedding SO MUCH HYDRANGEAS! As well as a lot of pink spray roses. For some reason, the white spray roses and garden roses didn't open! Why?! We did every trick in the book, and still they did not open. I guess I will have to research what went wrong, but I'll find out, because this is the second time the spray roses didn't open. At least the white ones, the pink one's opened beautifully! Oh, I love roses!
We had to make our "lollipop" hydrangeas again...that's going to be difficult to transport and set up! Oh well, we'll make it. Anyways, here are a few pictures that I took of some of the arrangements and flowers. If I have time, I'll take more pictures at the site. This is our first Japanese account, and it was difficult on it's own because we don't speak Japanese and they don't speak English. So if we make it in today, we'll be set for a long time! We had ordered so many hydrangeas for this wedding...that the place that we ordered from made a mistake! They sent us a box of BLUE hydrangeas! We were in a panic to know if we had enough hydrangeas or not...but we did! But now we have this bucket of beautiful blue hydrangeas! We have ideas of what we can do with them.
We made four "lollipop" hydrangeas. I call them "lollipop" coz that is exactly what they look like. White lollipops on a tall vase!

Tidepools and Jasmine Tea
Yesterday it was raining. Oh mandope, it was raining super hard...and I had a choice...go hiking up Olomana or tidepooling. I'm not the greatest hiker, but I do have fun. The boys that I go with, are hardcore hikers, but they try to pick "easy" hikes for us girls...and this one was pretty easy...BUT it was raining, which made the "easy" turn into "harder" because of the tendency to slip, rockslides and mudslides...so the boys went hiking and us girls we to the tidepools in Hawaii Kai.
It was my first time tidepooling, ever. And I had a lot of fun. I had to be super careful though because it was so easy to slip, and it was raining some, and we had to watch out for the tide to make sure that we didn't have to swim back to our car! *laughs*
I loved it. The ocean was clear even though the waves were pretty high. The rocks were very slippery, but oh mandope, it was fun and so beautiful. I did take pictures, but with my sister's camera, so maybe if I get them, I'll post them up...but she has her camera right now. The fish were beautiful and so many. A lot of sea urchins and sea cucumbers and slugs. Plenty of hermit crabs and crabs. I saw some starfishes...a lot of shell and coral.
While we were walking out we saw these two huge buckets...and walked right past them thinking that they were someone's collection of empty shells, broken pieces of coral or even sea glass...but when the tide was starting to come in, and it was starting to rain a little bit more harder, we slowly started on our way back to the car. We passed the buckets again that were standing...so we decided to see what goodies they held...and they were filled to top with sea slugs and cucumbers! Oh, that upset us. They were jam packed in there...all in their doodoo and smashed, so I know that it wasn't ours, but they were just fermenting in the sun [yes, the sun was out even though it was raining, and it was warm out too], so we tipped the buckets over and let them go free.
Come out people, do you eat them?! Then don't torture them first hand!
It was a lot of fun...and we came back home to jasmine tea. Then my sister and Tracy got all dolled up to meet up with the boys for our Valentine's get together [yes, I pouted already for not being able to go!] while I got ready to go to work. It's the month of love so weddings galore, and I am lucky [or not] enough to be their florist. But I love Saturday's where I get to hang out with my friends. We always go on the best adventures! :)
